St Pancras railway station (or St Pancras International) is a railway terminus situated in the centre of London and celebrated for its Victorian architecture. It is located on Euston Road, just between the British Library and King's Cross station. Eurostar services started running from St Pancras to Brussels and France in 2007.
St Pancras was first opened in 1868 by the Midland Railway as the southern terminus of their Midland Main Line. In those days the arched Barlow train shed was the largest single-span roof in the world. After avoiding demolition, the complex has been renovated and expanded at a cost of £800 million. It now serves as a terminal for Eurostar high speed services to Continental Europe via the Channel Tunnel. The restored station houses fifteen platforms, a shopping mall and bus station, in addition to London Underground services from King's Cross St Pancras tube station. St Pancras is owned by London and Continental Railways, as is the adjacent urban regeneration area known as King's Cross Central.
